<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output image data with a resolution displayable on a display device when starting an OS using a snapshot. <P>SOLUTION: An image output device has plural snapshots including image data with different resolutions, reads out a resolution setting set for the image output device in starting, selects a snapshot including image data with a resolution matching the readout resolution, and starts an OS.
