A wind energy device use low wind speeds of 5 to 10 km/hr to generate electricity in the range of 3-6 MW where wind is accelerated through wind funnel structures to a turbine and generator. The wind funnel structures simulate the appearance of houses or other building forms where they are located on land or the appearance of yachts where they are located on floats on water to aesthetically integrate with their surroundings. The wind funnel structures encompass both single and multiple direction wind intake systems and use both fixed and retractable partitions to form the interior wind funnels. All embodiments use a shroud to increase wind speed and power, some embodiments use a sound attenuation module and other embodiments use a piezoelectric oscillator module for power generation with a sound attenuation aspect. A method for elevating the wind funnel systems on flat land is described, as well as a stabilizing anchoring method for floats carrying wind funnel systems on water. The invention also relates to the extraction of carbon dioxide from the ambient air. |
