The present invention relates to a thin film separator with improved thermal safety and a manufacturing method thereof. Provided is a separator which is thin and has excellent thermal safety since a crosslinked siloxane oligomer, formed from two kinds of siloxane oligomers, is coated on the fibril of a porous polyolefin film. The present invention includes: a porous polyolefin film; and a crosslinked siloxane oligomer coated on the fibril of the porous polyolefin film.
