a registration unit configured to register a first application and a second application corresponding to a port for an encrypted communication, the first application being associated with a transfer application for redirection corresponding to a port for an unencrypted communication and the second application being not registered in association with the transfer application; a first processing unit configured to process data by executing the first application when a request for the first application is transmitted from an external apparatus via a network to the port for the encrypted communication; a second processing unit configured to process data by executing the second application when a request for the second application is transmitted from an external apparatus via the network to the port for the encrypted communication; a redirection unit configured to, when a request for the first application is transmitted from an external apparatus via the network to the port for the unencrypted communication, redirect the request transmitted to the first application by executing the transfer application; and an error notification unit configured to, when a request for the second application is transmitted from an external apparatus via the network to the port for the unencrypted communication, notify an error message to the external apparatus.
