摘要 Multi-walled carbon nanotubes impregnated with iron nanoparticles are synthesized. The multi-walled carbon nanotubes are used as sorbents to remove benzene from water. The removal of benzene increases with the increase of impregnated iron percent in the multi-walled carbon nanotube.

A method for removing benzene from a benzene-containing aqueous composition, comprising: contacting an adsorbent with the benzene-containing aqueous composition; wherein the adsorbent comprises multi-walled carbon nanotubes having an outside diameter of 10-20 nm and an inside diameter of 5-10 nm, with iron(III) oxide nanoparticles impregnated on outside walls of the multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
