Disclosed is a top piston ring (4) to be used in a piston ring pack within a groove (3) in a piston (1) of a large two-stroke turbocharged uniflow-scavenged internal combustion engine with crossheads. The top piston ring (4) comprises a ring body which comprises: a top surface (16), a bottom surface (17), and an external ring surface (11), and a first combining end unit and a second combining end unit (8, 9) at a ring partition. The first combining end unit (8) comprises a circumferential direction extending finger (23). The second combining end unit (9) comprises a circumferential direction extending recess (28) having a shape and a size for accommodating a finger (23) to be able to seal and slide. The circumference extending unit of the recess (28) is divided into a proximal unit (46) and a distal unit (47). The circumference extending unit of the finger (23) is divided into a proximal unit (44) and a distal unit (45). The proximal unit (46) of the recess (28) is connected to the external ring surface (11) and the bottom surface (17) of the ring. The distal unit (47) of the recess is connected to the external ring surface (11), the bottom surface of the ring (17) and the top surface of the ring (16). The proximal unit (44) of the finger (23) is at the same height as that of the external ring surface (11), the bottom surface of the ring (17), and at least partially the top surface of the ring (16). The distal unit (45) of the finger (23) is at the same height as that of the external ring surface (11) and the bottom surface of the ring (17). |
