The present invention relates to a display apparatus comprising a fingerprint recognition device, and an operating method thereof. The display apparatus comprises: a display panel including upper and lower substrates facing each other; a cover window arranged on the upper substrate to cover a front surface of the display panel; a touch sensor array formed on the cover window; and a finger sensor array formed on the cover window, and configured on the same layer as the touch sensor array. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the display apparatus to improve fingerprint recognition sensitivity and reduce costs.
