The present invention relates to an apparatus for melting a powder material which can melt a power material while continuously, repeatedly, and vertically rocking a quartz tube in which the power material is inserted in a melting furnace. According to the present invention, the apparatus for melting a powder material comprises: a melting furnace having a heating chamber; a heating means to make a high temperature environment of a prescribed temperature range in the heating chamber; a rotary member connected to a rotary shaft installed in parallel with a ground surface in the heating chamber of the melting furnace to vertically rotate about the rotary shaft; a jig detachably installed on the rotary member, on which a quartz tube accommodating a power material is fixed; and a drive unit installed and connected to the rotary shaft from outside the melting furnace to continuously and repeatedly rotate the rotary shaft back and forth in a prescribed angle range.
