The present invention provides a radio wave absorber and a ferrite composition for the corresponding radio wave absorber which has high attenuation characteristics at a high frequency band of 100-400 MHz, and has excellent chipping resistance with low costs. The ferrite composition for the radio wave absorber comprises: an iron oxide of 39.0-47.0 mol% by Fe_2O_3 conversion and a zinc oxide of 14.0-20.0 mol% by ZnO conversion. A remainder of the ferrite composition has a main component constituted with a manganese oxide, and contains at least a silicon oxide of 50-200 weight ppm by SiO_2 conversion, a calcium oxide of 200-2500 weight ppm by CaO conversion, and a cobalt oxide of 1000-7000 weight ppm as sub components; to the main 100 wt% of the component. |
