PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology in which effective cleaning can be realized by applying and spreading cleaning liquid sufficiently to a nozzle formation surface when wiping the nozzle formation surface of a discharge head by using the cleaning liquid.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device comprises: a discharge head 6 including a nozzle formation surface 60 in which nozzles for discharging liquid are formed; a wiping member 711 which performs wiping by moving relatively to the nozzle formation surface 60 while contacting the nozzle formation surface 60; a cleaning liquid supply part 73 which supplies cleaning liquid to be provided for the wiping; and a control part implementing reciprocation wiping control in which the wiping is performed by making a wiping member 71 holding the cleaning liquid supplied from the cleaning liquid supply part 73 do reciprocation operation of moving relatively to a first direction along the nozzle formation surface 60 and, subsequently, moving relatively to a second direction opposite to the first direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
