1. A system comprising a gateway apparatus, a plurality of base stations, and a mobile device operable to communicate with at least one of the plurality of base stations, wherein:
the gateway apparatus comprises a memory storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to thereby:
store information mapping address data for the at least one of the plurality of base stations to information identifying a respective cell operated by that base station of the plurality of base stations; the at least one base station comprises a memory storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to thereby:
obtain information identifying a cell operated by a neighbour base station;provide the information to the gateway apparatus; and wherein the processor of the gateway apparatus further:
receives, from a base station via the transceiver circuit of the gateway apparatus, the information identifying the cell operated by the neighbour base station;obtains, from the information held address data for the neighbour base station operating the cell based on the information identifying the cell operated by the neighbour base station;generates a message comprising the address data; andsends, to the at least one base station, the message comprising the address data; and wherein the processor of the at least one base station further:
receives, based on the information provided to the gateway apparatus, a message generated by the gateway apparatus, the message comprising address data for the neighbour base station operating the cell; andestablishes a connection, with the neighbour base station using the address data. |
