This UV irradiation apparatus is provided with a treatment tank, a UV irradiation member, a UV sensor, and a vent part. The treatment tank includes a water supply port for supplying treatment water to a treatment target, and a drainage port for draining the treatment water. The UV irradiation member is situated in the interior of the treatment tank, and irradiates with UV the treatment water passing through the interior of the treatment tank. The UV sensor is situated in the interior of the treatment tank, and measures the UV irradiance level from the UV irradiation member. The vent part is connected to a vent hole situated at a position above a horizontal plane passing through the UV sensor, and is provided so that air collecting in the interior of the treatment tank during passage of the treatment water through the treatment tank interior escapes to outside the treatment tank through the vent hole. |
