A shovel, which is provided with a lower travel body 1, an upper turning body 3 turnably mounted on the lower travel body 1, and an attachment attached to the upper travel body 3, and which is mounted with a machine guidance device 50 for visually or audibly indicating the magnitude of the difference between the current position of a bucket 6 and a target position, is provided with a controller 30 that, when it is determined that a predetermined event has occurred, communicates that accurate guidance may be impossible to continue to provide. Upon it being determined that the position or the orientation of the lower travel body 1 of the shovel has changed, the controller 30 determines that the predetermined event has occurred and communicates to an operator that accurate guidance may be impossible to continue to provide. |
