A POPULATION OF CELLS FOR USE IN SINGLE-STAGE CELL-BASED CARTILAGE REGENERATION

An isolated population of non-expanded cells derived from adipose tissue of a mammal and enriched in non-expanded chondro-progenitor cells is described. Also described is a bioactive tissue repair construct comprising ECM and seeded with non-expanded cells of the invention. Also described is a composition comprising non-expanded cells of the invention in combination with chondrons and optionally including ECM material. The cells, compositions and scaffolds of the invention find utility in single-stage cell-based autologous cartilage regeneration methods.
