PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plurality of techniques for translating a plurality of input camera commands to a plurality of device-specific commands.SOLUTION: A plurality of camera commands is translated by a translation engine 312 located separately from a camera sub system 304 and then transferred to a camera. The plurality of translated commands may be less complex than a plurality of input commands. By translating the plurality of commands, older cameras support a plurality of newer commands which are not natively supported.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
