The present invention provides a device, method, and system for coexistence of a discovery signal and a cellular signal; a communications mode request indication sent by a user equipment (UE) is received by means of a device for coexistence of a discovery signal and a cellular signal; the communications mode request indication is used for indicating the communications mode the UE is required to use; the communications mode comprises: device-to-device (D2D) communication or cellular communication; according to the communications mode request indication, the device determines the communications mode used by the UE; to the UE the device sends information of the communications mode determined to be used by the UE. Thus according to the communications mode request indication reported by the UE, the UE is instructed to perform either discovery signal communication or cellular signal communication, thereby avoiding the occurrence of a conflict of two means of communication by the UE, and improving the stability of the D2D communication and cellular communication of the UE. |
