There is described a unit (1) for applying at least one pre-formed opening device (4) onto a hole (2) of a web (3) of a packaging material, unit (1) comprises advancing means (10) for advancing web (3) along a path (P); and at least one application station (15), which is fed, in use, with pre-formed opening device (4) and seals, in use, pre-formed opening device (4) on hole (2) of web (3).
