PURPOSE:To prevent a surface of a copper mirror from scratch and oxidation by vacuum depositing zinc selenide on the copper mirror. CONSTITUTION:A dome 3 holding plural copper mirror base plates 2 is arranged to face oppositely to a vapor deposition source 5 in a chamber 1 held at <=10<-5>Torr degree of vacuum, and a heater 4 is disposed to behind the dome 3. Bulk or powder of zinc selenide is used as the vapor deposition source 5. The copper mirror base plate is attached to a holder in order to obtain a uniform thickness of vapor deposited film, and rotated together with the holder. The base plate is heated at 50-150 deg.C in order to increase adhesive strength. Thus, the copper mirror is prevented from scratch and oxidation without impairing its original reflectance. |
