An electrical connector capable of connection in both forward and backward directions, comprising: an insulation base (30), two terminal groups, and a metal housing (60). The insulation base (30) is provided with a substrate (31) and a docking portion (32). The docking portion (32) is disposed on one end of the substrate (31) and provided with two connection surfaces (323) in opposite directions. The two terminal groups are disposed on the insulation base. Each terminal group is provided with at least one row of terminals (40). Each terminal (40) is provided with a contact portion (44) extending from one end of the terminal (40) and a pin (41) extending from the other end of the terminal (40). The contact portions (44) of the two terminal groups are respectively exposed out of the two connection surfaces (323) of the docking portion (32). The metal housing (60) covers the insulation base (30) and is provided with a four-side wrapped main casing (61). The four-side wrapped main casing (61) shields the docking portion (32) and a docking structure is formed by the main casing (61) and the docking portion (32). The docking structure can be positioned, due to its shape, in a docked electrical connector in both forward and backward directions. The electrical connector is further provided with a second metal shell (640) abutting against the metal housing. The second metal shell (640) is provided with a four-side wrapped casing, and the four-side wrapped casing is fitted on and abuts against the four-side wrapped main casing (61). |
