Disclosed are a connected device capable of remotely limiting functions and a remote function limiting method for the connected device. The connected device capable of remotely limiting functions according to the present invention comprises: a communication unit which is operated by being connected to a communication device and communicates with the communication device; a sensing unit for measuring the state of the connected device itself and the surroundings; and a control unit for controlling the mode in one or more modes from among a general mode in which both the communication unit and the sensing unit are an on state, a sleep mode in which both the communication unit and the sensing unit are an off state, and a sniffing mode in which the communication unit is an on state and the sensing unit is an off state.
