PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive strength of a metallic film to a base material by applying an adhesive to the surface of a base material, subjecting the above to metal thermal spraying, and then hardening the above adhesive at the time of forming a metallic film on the surface of a base material by metal thermal spraying. CONSTITUTION:For example, an epoxy thermosetting adhesive, etc., are applied to the surface of a surface-roughened or surface-unroughened base material. Subsequently, metal thermal spraying is carried out before the above adhesive is hardened, and then this adhesive is hardened. By this method, the metallic film formed by a metal thermal spraying method has high adhesive strength to the base material and, as a result, this metallic film is free from cracks and peeling even if subjected, e.g., to a repetition of expansion and contraction due to impact or temp. change. |
