The present invention provides: a method for manufacturing a rubber composition including a rubber component (A) including natural rubber, at least one type of filler (B) selected from an inorganic filler and carbon black, and a hydrazide compound (C) represented by general formula (I) and supported on a solid, wherein the method for manufacturing a rubber composition is characterized in that a kneading step is performed by a given preliminary kneading stage and multistage kneading, and the hydrazide compound (C) supported on the solid is added in the preliminary kneading stage and/or the first stage of kneading; and a rubber composition manufactured by this manufacturing method.
