PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool computers, computer power supplies, and other appliances in an equipment-rack.SOLUTION: An equipment-rack power distribution system includes a PDU (a power distribution unit) housing 101; a power entrance penetrating the housing; a plurality of power outlets disposed on a surface of the housing; circuitry enclosed in the housing and interconnecting a power input part 111 and a power output part; one or more air inlets 117 associated with the housing; one or more air outlets associated with the housing; and an air flow device 121 in fluid communication with one or more of the air inlets and the air outlets. An environmental sensor may activate the air flow device upon detection of predetermined environmental conditions, such as temperature that exceeds a defined limit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
