1. A spring system comprising:
an outer sleeve having an internal chamber; an inner sleeve having an internal chamber and arranged for sliding displacement in said outer sleeve; a top rod; a bottom rod connected to said top rod; and a drive housing connected to said outer sleeve, said drive housing including a motor and a drive system that is configured to cause said bottom rod to rotate; and wherein rotation of said bottom rod in a first direction caused said top rod to move in a direction that causes said inner sleeve to move to an extended position, and wherein rotation of said bottom rod in a direction opposite said first direction causes said top rod to move in a direction that causes said inner sleeve to move to a retracted position.
