The present invention addresses the problem of providing a fiber for protein adsorption and a column for protein adsorption, which have minimal eluates, are safe, and have high protein adsorption performance. The present invention involves a fiber for protein adsorption and a column for protein adsorption. Said fiber has a water absorption rate of 1 to 50%, and contains a polymer comprising repeating units of aromatic hydrocarbons or derivatives thereof, wherein some of the aromatic rings of the repeating units are crosslinked via the structure represented by general formula (I).
