This power reception device (12) comprises a power reception resonant circuit (LC2), a power reception coil (L3), a load (LD), and a current limiting unit (SW1), and receives transmitted power in a non-contact manner. The power reception resonant circuit (LC2) includes a magnetic flux collecting coil (L2) for collecting the magnetic flux of an alternating magnetic field generated by a power transmission resonant circuit (LC1) including a transmission coil (L1) for transmitting power in a non-contact manner. The power reception coil (L3) is not electrically connected to the power reception resonant circuit (LC2), and is magnetically coupled to the magnetic flux collecting coil (L2). The load (LD) is electrically connected to the power reception coil (L3). The current limiting unit (SW1) substantially prevents a current from flowing through the magnetic flux collecting coil (L2). With the present embodiment, it is possible to reduce unnecessary power consumption when power is not supplied to the load.
