PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR TREATING DERMATITIS COMPRISING FRACTION OF FOENICULUM VULGARE EXTRACT

The present invention relates to a methylene chloride fraction of a Foeniculum vulgare Gaertner fruit extract, which exhibits effects of ameliorating or treating dermatitis. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing a methylene chloride fraction of a Foeniculum vulgare Gaertner fruit extract which has excellent effects of treating inflammation in an animal model with dermatitis. In addition, the composition of the present invention is also outstanding in inhibition of the expression of proinflammatory mediators and proinflammatory cytokines and also inhibition of nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65. The present invention further relates to an external skin application composition therefor. According to the present invention, used in the composition is Foeniculum vulgare Gaertner which is an edible plant. Thus, the composition can be safely used since the composition does not cause cytotoxicity.
