The present invention relates to a passenger airbag apparatus which comprises: a cushion which expands as the gas generated by an inflator flows in; an active vent formed to discharge the gas of the cushion to the outside; a vent cover installed to open and close the active vent; an active vent cord whose one side is connected to the vent cover and whose the other side is connected to a tether release unit installed on the opposite side to the vent cover; and a movement preventing tether for guiding the active vent cord for the tether release unit to release the active vent cord and for the vent cover to open the active vent when the vehicle collides and for partially limiting the flow of the active vent cord. Since the movement preventing tether guides the tether to open the active vent, damage to the passenger can be reduced. Since the processes related to the LRD vent and active vent are simplified, the number of parts can be decreased. Thanks to the decrease in the number of parts, weight is reduced and costs are lessened. |
