Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for detecting concealment of a social issue. The method for detecting concealment of a social issue comprises: by a concealment determination device, receiving newspaper article information from a newspaper server and real-time search word ranking information from a portal site server; by the concealment determination device, extracting information associated with the newspaper article from the newspaper article information and information associated with real-time search ranking from real-time search word ranking information; and by the concealment determination device, calculating a concealment degree index between the keywords based on the information associated with the newspaper article and the information associated with the real-time search ranking.
