PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide formulations of phospholipids and surfactants effective in transport of fatty acid and/or phospholipid, in the treatment of diseases associated with fatty acid metabolic abnormality comprising essential fatty acid deficiency.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a vesicular formulation containing one or more phospholipids and one or more nonionic surfactants, not containing a pharmaceutical active agent, and to the use of such formulations for the delivery of fatty acids for the treatment of disorders, such as fatty acid metabolic disorders including essential fatty acid deficiency, namely, pain or inflammation or osteoarthritis, more specifically, for the treatment of deep tissue pain, namely, asthma, bronchospasm, atherothrombotic cardiovascular disorders, venous thrombosis disorders, inflammatory dermatoses disorders (e.g., atopic eczema, dyshidrotic hand eczema, plaque type psoriasis, seborrheic eczema, and acne vulgaris), and dysmenorrhea.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
