In order to provide a centrifugal compressor whereby pressure loss is suppressed in fluid discharged from an impeller and efficiency is improved, the present invention comprises: a rotation shaft (5) rotatably supported by a casing (2); an impeller (6) provided on the rotation shaft (5) and discharging fluid that has been sucked in from a suction port (10), in the radial direction of the rotation shaft (5); a return flowpath (13) that returns fluid that has been discharged from the impeller (6), towards the axial line (L) of the rotation shaft (5); and a discharge port (16) positioned above the axial line (L) of the rotation shaft (5) and which discharges fluid that has passed through the return flowpath (13), in a direction following the axial line (L).
