摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakout detection method for continuous casting capable of measuring friction between a cast mold and a cast slab from a torque applied to a rotation shaft of a motor that drives a vibration device for vibrating the cast mold, and also easily corresponding to an amount of solidification shrinkage which differs for each steel type.SOLUTION: A breakout detection method for continuous casting includes: a first step S1 of detecting friction between a cast mold 2 and a cast slab C which is under continuous casting, from a chronological torque signal T1 which appears in control means 14 of a motor M that drives a vibration device 4 for applying vibration to the cast mold 2 along the casting direction; and a second step S2 of adding the torque signal T1 and a torque signal T2 generated by shifting a vibration period of the torque signal T1 by a half period, and on the basis of a chronological change of a torque signal T3 obtained by removing a torque component caused by gravity acting on a lifting part 5 of the vibration device 4, determining the presence of breakout BO.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
