PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method suitable for vacuum double layer glass having a metal-frit composite encapsulating member.SOLUTION: The method for producing vacuum double layer glass comprises: (A) a step of composing a laminate comprising first and second glass substrates laminated so as to form a gap between them and a seal member arranged so as to encircle the gap, where the seal member comprises a frame-like metal member and first and second glass solidified layers which soften at a temperature of about 400°C or more; and (B) a step of vacuum treating the gap of the laminate. The step (B) comprises heat treating the laminate under conditions that, when the treating temperature and a holding time are denoted by T(K) and t (hour) respectively, satisfy a formula: T≤620×t(1), where 0.1(hour)<t<100(hour).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
