A dipole antenna assembly (300) for an electronic device includes a rear mount having electronic components exposed at one of its surfaces, an antenna (306), a printed circuit board (318), and a battery (302). The antenna (306) may be adjacent the rear flexible mount (320). The antenna (306) includes a first portion and a second portion. The second portion comprises a transmission line. The printed circuit board (318) can be connected to the antenna (306) and the battery (302) can be connected to a portion of the rear flexible mount (320) and the printed circuit board (318). A positive arm of the dipole antenna assembly can include the battery (302), and a negative arm of the dipole antenna assembly can include the outside surface of the transmission line. |
