METHOD OF FORMING A STRONG CONNECTION BETWEEN TWO COMPONENTS USING FORMS FOR MANIPULATING THE COMPONENTS

The process for cohesive connection of two components (2) such as rotating shaft parts in a connecting portion (8), comprises positioning annular molded portions (10) for a manipulation of a surface geometry of the components adjacent to the connecting portion, where: the two components are welded together; and a heat treatment is performed for a targeted introduction of compressive residual stresses whose distribution is influenced by the manipulated surface geometry. The molded portions are spaced apart from the connecting portion. The molded portions are spaced apart from the connecting portion. The heat treatment is carried out locally in the connection portion. A stress annealing process is provided as heat treatment. The heat treatment is carried out, in which the components to be welded-together are sprayed in a sub-step with a liquid such as water. The sub-step, in which the components are sprayed with the liquid, is started at a temperature equal to or below the temperature for a holding period of the stress annealing process. The molded portions are mechanically removed after the heat treatment.
