A wire grid polarizer of the present invention includes: a substrate; and multiple parallel conductive wire patterns protruding from the substrate. At least one side of the conductive wire patterns includes an oxidization prevention film. The conductive wire patterns and the oxidization prevention film are formed without passing via an oxidization layer of a substance of the conductive wire patterns.
