The present invention relates to a method and a system for initializing an engine controller factory, which installs software to inspect functions in the random access memory (RAM) of a vehicle controller when inspecting functions and performance through a function inspector in a process of producing the vehicle controller and is able to perform a factory initialization by applying a function, which records a value in a specific address area of a master control unit (MCU) among various functions of the software for inspecting functions, to a flash memory deletion process (PFLASH erase sequence) and deleting the header field of an alternative boot mode (ABM) in the flash memory. The engine controller factory initialization system according to the present invention comprises: an engine controller which includes an RAM, a flash memory (PFlash), and a master control unit (MCU) capable of installing not only software but also a communication function; and a function inspector which performs the factory initialization of the engine controller by installing software for inspecting functions in the RAM area through communication with the engine controller and deleting the ABM header field in the flash memory through the software for inspecting functions. |
