<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for appropriately displaying character data along with screen transition. <P>SOLUTION: A control device for screen transition to successively change character data displayed in a display part comprises: detection means; generation control means; and display control means. The detection means detects that an instruction to display a second screen including second character data which is not included in a first screen and is different from first character data, in place of the first screen including the first character data displayed in the display part has been given by a user. The generation control means executes generation processing so that the second character data included in the second screen is generated in quality lower than the first character data, in response to detection of the instruction for displaying the second screen by the detection means.
