A method of joining a first bulk composite core (2201a) and a second bulk composite core (2201b) by applying an adhesive to a surface network (3201a) of the first bulk composite core (2201a); inserting a plurality of mandrels (2803) into a plurality of cell members of the first bulk composite core (2201a) and a plurality of cell members of the second composite core (2201b), thereby aligning the cell members of the first bulk composite core (2201a) to the cell members of the second bulk composite core (2201b) ; pressing the respective surface networks (3201a, 3201b) of the first bulk composite core (2201a) and the second bulk composite core (2201b) together with the adhesive located therebetween; and curing the adhesive.
