The manual blood sample smear device (EMMS) is a laboratory instrument useful for the preparation of peripheral blood smeared on a glass slide. The device comprises two components: a smear member, and a base member. The characteristics thereof allow for the offset of any unstable movement of the user’s hand, an angular variation of the smear slide, and an improved and mechanized replication of the manual technique for the preparation of blood smears. The present invention includes mainly five novel features: a process for the production of peripheral blood smear, which is an improvement over the manual technique in that it is steady and not affected by unstable movements of the user’s hand, a smear member designed for an easy manual handling, a rubber band-based offset system for compensating unstable movements and angular variation, a stable sliding and lifting system based on the shape of the parts thereof, and a stable base which is prepared for a suitable attachment of the slide w here the smear is to be placed. |
