According to an embodiment of the present invention, a monitoring system for a mud pressure of the present invention comprises: a BOP which comprises a choke distanced from a riser to separately discharge mud, and an annular ring for controlling the mud recovered to a drillship through the riser; a choke line connected to the choke, through which the mud passes; a well monitoring tank into which the mud discharged by passing through the choke line is supplied; and a control unit for detecting that the bottom pressure and the top pressure of the mud are different when the quantity of the mud supplied to the well monitoring tank is out of the standard amount. According to the present invention, the monitoring system for mud pressure of the present invention detects that the bottom pressure of the mud is higher than the top pressure of the mud when the quantity of the mud recovered to the well monitoring tank exceeds the standard amount, and, detects that the top pressure of the mud is lower than the bottom pressure of the mud when the quantity of the mud supplied to the well monitoring tank is lower than the standard amount. Accordingly, the present invention can check the pressure status of an oil well to secure its stability.
