<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of image density unevenness more reliably than before. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes resistance detection means for detecting electrical resistances of primary transfer rollers 25Y, M, C, and K, or electrical characteristic detection means for detecting predetermined electrical characteristics each having correlation with these electrical resistances.
