The system has three host wire adapters for receiving beacon messages i.e. ultra wideband beacons, sent in regular intervals by a wireless detector and to obtain information e.g. signal strength, angle and/or indication on reception time point, of the wireless detector based on the received beacon messages. A control unit receives information of the wireless detector from the host wire adapters and determines the position of the wireless detector based on the information of the wireless detector and the distance between the wireless detector and the host wire adapters. An independent claim is also included for a method for enabling usage of wireless detectors in a medical system. |
