An anti-skid device (1) for a motor vehicle wheel comprises: a raceway (2); a radial arm (5) to maintain the raceway (2) on a tread of a tire of a vehicle wheel; a middle flange (8) having the radial arm (5) cooperating therewith; and a mechanical means to transfer a pressing force to the radial arm (5). The mechanical means comprises: a fixing member (11) attached to a rim having a considered wheel fixed thereon; and a flexible towing member (10) to displace the middle flange (8) with respect to the vehicle rim in an axial direction. A displacement of the middle flange (8) in the axial direction can generate a force for pressing the radial arm (5) on the outside of the tire. Any one of the ends of the flexible towing member (10) is attached to the fixing member (11), and the other end is attached to the middle flange (8) and operated by using a tension lever hinged on an outer surface of the middle flange. The flexible towing member (10) crosses the middle flange (8) at a level of a channel (9) formed in the middle of the flange (8). The tension lever (16) comprises a guide (18) having a flexible towing member (10) which passes around the flange after the flange crosses by the channel (9). |
