<p>Easily masticable products, readily mixable with rubber or resins, are prepared by heating comminuted vulcanized rubber, water and styrene, alpha-methyl styrene or acrylonitrile at 125 DEG C.-250 DEG C. until the monomer polymerizes, the proportion of resin-forming monomer to rubber being 1/3 -3. The rubbers treated are exemplified by whole natural rubber and GR-S tyre reclaim and scrap, cut thread of natural rubber, neoprene reclaim and butyl tube scrap.</p> |
