Disclosed is a mold to extrude metal with excellent seizure resistance, and a manufacturing method thereof. According to the present invention, the manufacturing method of the mold to extrude metal comprises: (a) a step of loading mold base metal into a chamber; (b) a step of forming a base metal surface reinforcing layer on the mold base metal; and (c) a step of forming one or more coating layers on the base metal surface reinforcing layer, wherein at least one layer of the coating layers is formed as a hard coating layer with a Vickers hardness (Hv) of 2000 or more, and a top coating layer formed of a compound including oxygen and metal.
