The device (1) has a heating element (4) that is arranged along a transportation path (T) of a plastic preform (10) so as to warm-up the plastic preform. A cooling device cools the plastic preform and/or the heating element during heating of the preform by application of a gaseous medium i.e. air. A flow path of the medium is changed such that the medium is guided in two predetermined manners with respect to an outer surface of the preform, where the predetermined manners differ with regard to volume flow reaching outer surface of the preform. An independent claim is also included for a method for heating a plastic preform. |
