The pipe i.e. suction hose (9), has a barrier provided in a region of inner corrugation troughs for pneumatic and/or hydraulic smoothing of the pipe. The barrier comprises an elastically compressible and/or flexible hollow section (21) that is tied up with rest of the pipe, where the pipe is made of a helically wound profile string (18). The hollow section is formed as a one-piece integral to the profile string, where the hollow section is partially formed as a thin wall of the pipe and partially formed from a softer material than that of a wall of the pipe.
