PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveyance apparatus with a simplified structure.SOLUTION: A sheet conveyance apparatus for conveying a sheet in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction comprises: a guide part for guiding the sheet; a drive mechanism for conveying the sheet; an irradiation system light guide body which is optically coupled to a light-emitting element 123; a detection system light guide body which is optically coupled to the irradiation system light guide body; and light-receiving elements 124a, 124b which are optically coupled to the detection system light guide body. The irradiation system light guide body has a branch part optically branching light in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction. The detection system light guide body comprises: a horizontal conveyance detection system light guide body optically coupled to light which is branched in the vertical direction at the branch part of the irradiation system light guide body, in the vertical direction; and a vertical conveyance detection system light guide body optically coupled to light which is branched in the horizontal direction at the branch part of the irradiation system light guide body, in the horizontal direction. The drive mechanism conveys the sheet so that the horizontally conveyed sheet blocks optical coupling of the irradiation system light guide body to the horizontal detection system light guide body, and conveys the sheet so that the vertically conveyed sheet blocks optical coupling of the irradiation system light guide body to the vertical conveyance detection system light guide body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
