PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a puncture needle for photoacoustic imaging apparatuses and photoacoustic imaging apparatus, even when a quantity of light of a light source is relatively small, capable of inhibiting such a case that it becomes hard to secure sufficient acoustic waves for imaging the puncture needle.SOLUTION: A puncture needle 1 for the photoacoustic imaging apparatus includes: a puncture needle body part 2 that absorbs light applied from light-emitting diode elements 21a and 21b and generates acoustic waves A according to the absorbed light; and an acoustic matching layer 3 that is provided at least on a part of a surface 2a of the puncture needle body part 2 and configured to match an acoustic impedance Z1 of the puncture needle body part 2 and an acoustic impedance Z2 of a test object 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
